When I came in for Physical Therapy, I had fallen twice. Once in the backyard and I really hurt my foot that time. I fell again out in the front when I was trying to manage the hose and I lost my balance and over I went. The biggest success for me is, you go in the shower and you close your eyes because you shampoo your hair, you’re not holding onto anything. I’m able to do that now, where before I was very unsure, I would hold onto the wall and scrub my hand with one hand. I was really unsteady. Now, I’m really steady. I can close my eyes and balance. Wow. Now, I accept it so freely at home. I’m able to get in the shower, shampoo with both hands and close my eyes. I don’t even feel like I would even think about falling. So, to me, that’s been a real plus. I notice it around the house when I’m walking. I’m using a cane less and less. If you’re not using a cane, you wobble to try and keep your feet apart and keep your balance. But, my husband said “I notice you’re not doing that so much anymore.” I’m able to walk better around the house. I feel like I’ve had a real success story with balancing.
