Andrea R.

My name is Andrea Ramos, and I’m from Oxnard, California. It’s been great—amazing. It exceeds my expectations. I already had a positive feeling coming in, but working here with everybody as a team, everything was awesome.

The work culture here is great. Everybody works together. I’m assigned to a clinical instructor, but it’s not just her help—it’s all the other PTs and PTAs, too. Everybody pitches in and helps out.

Coming in, I had no experience with manual therapy or working with a diverse population of younger and older people. I was really nervous, but they made me feel comfortable and helped any way they could. Leaving now, I feel a lot more confident. I feel like I can treat someone on my own as opposed to being super nervous and scared.

I feel a lot better with my manual therapy, which I had pretty much no experience with before. Everyone has been incredibly helpful. I’ve also learned new techniques, especially with balance.

This place is awesome. The weather’s great—we’re minutes away from a beach. It’s never really too cold or too hot. We’ve even got music going in the background, so patients feel comfortable and want to come in for PT.

For students thinking about where to go for their rotation, this is a great location. The PTs and PTAs all work together to support students. I got feedback from so many people, not just my clinical instructor. Everyone supports each other, and it’s such a good learning environment.

It’s exceeded my expectations. Seeing everybody get better and do well has been amazing. I really like it here, and I’ve enjoyed my time so much!

Angel M.

My name is Angel Mendoza, and I’m from CBD College. This is my first clinical rotation.

The culture here is very open, very welcoming. It kind of feels like your second home. Everyone here is pretty great—from top to bottom.

On my first day, I was very nervous and shy, especially with patients and the staff. It took me a few days to get comfortable. But from day one to now, I’m a lot more confident.

One of the main skill sets I’ll be taking away is anything neuro—especially balance. That’s probably the main thing I worked on here, and I’ll definitely take that forward.

The team here is amazing. They’re very welcoming and open. You can go to them for anything related to a patient. Any question you have, they’re more than willing to help you out.

When I first came in, I thought it was going to be strict and super professional. But when I got here, it was very open. Everybody was themselves and showed who they truly are, which is great for a work environment.

I just want to say thank you so much to the team at Advantage. I'm going to take I know that I'm going to take all the lessons that you guys have taught me into the rest of my career.

I had a great time at Advantage. It was such a collaborative team feel here. I really got to work with everyone and feel like I got to experience a lot of very different areas that Advantage has to offer me. I feel like I got to see a lot of very interesting patients and very different interesting cases, and I feel like I learned a lot and grew a lot in my clinical reasoning here.

The patients feel like family to us. They always come first as a person. We always look at them like from a holistic standpoint. We really got to know the patients and know a lot about them, their family, their hobbies, everything like that.

So I started this because this was my first rotation, so I started very timid, very shy, more willing to just kind of stand back and watch my C.I. I was always scared of being wrong and not kind of like, I guess like voicing my opinions or, you know, like not taking that initiative at first. But now, because everyone made me feel so comfortable, I’m much more willing to jump in there to ask questions, to try things out, even if I know that I’m not going to do it correctly the first time and kind of struggle my way through it. They made that experience very positive for me.

I really got to improve upon exercise progression and regression and I like working a patient through their entire plan of care. I think one of the biggest goals that I learned is soft skills.

I think that the student like the clinic as a whole really values their student, and really makes the time and effort to teach students. They take time to really mentor students.

It’s really a good balance, honestly, of, you know, like helping to teach and also like giving students independence as well. I think that your students are just going to be exposed to so much here and learn so much about not just clinical reasoning and case management stuff, but really just also about the business side of things as well. And about just people skills as well.

It’s a great location. You’re right next to the beach. Ventura has such a cool community that seems so close-knit. I feel like Ventura has become like a little bit of my home as well.

I just want to say thank you so much to the team at Advantage. I’m going to take I know that I’m going to take all the lessons that you guys have taught me into the rest of my career.

My experience has been has been great. I would really recommend this location. I loved it. Every second of it exceeded my expectations!

My name’s Omar Ramos.

My experience has been has been great. I learned a lot of manual techniques how to communicate with patients, how to ask the right questions, and how to analyze patient presentation. Yeah, definitely exceeded all my expectations.

The people here take care of their therapists really well.

Patients are they’re seen more as friends and family. They come in. They just act themselves. They interact with a therapist. Like if it’s just you’re coming to visit your friend.

Coming in, I was definitely nervous. I was lacking confidence. I wasn’t sure about my abilities. I knew I needed to improve a lot in my abilities. I’m getting more confident in my abilities, and my decisions as a PTA.

I would really recommend this location.

It’s more like a family environment and everyone gets along. Everyone’s helping each other out. So if you’re going to pick a clinic between this one and another one, I’d say, come to Advantage Physical Therapy.

I felt like they eased me into it. They taught me what I needed to know and then they started giving me the patients. It’s not like my C.I. just went away and did his own thing. He was always right there, ready to answer any questions, and ready to help out if I got stuck with anything. This is a trustworthy place.

I loved it. Every second of it exceeded my expectations!

I definitely grew a lot. I think walking out of here, I feel more confident with everything I learned, and it just definitely opened my mind to change my whole perspective.

It was an amazing experience here. Everyone’s very welcoming and very supportive.

We definitely work together as a team to provide the best quality of care for our patients.

The biggest thing was they allowed me to be myself I practice what I learned. I kept learning new techniques from everyone I highly recommend this place and I think it’s a good area to really be because you get to learn a lot and then you get to apply and then you get to learn more and you get to apply it again.

I definitely grew a lot. I think walking out of here, I feel more confident with everything I learned, and it just definitely opened my mind to change my whole perspective.

You really develop relationships with your co-workers and feel like part of the team.

Everyone in Advantage from day 1 was so welcoming like a fun environment, really fun, welcoming, friendly group of people like great with patients. My first impression from day 1 was just like this is gonna feel like home. You have a wide range of personalities and things to work on so it’s fun like a kind of always changing interesting environment.

I grew a lot in just having more confidence in my ability to connect with people and one thing Advantage is really big on here is people first, condition second and I think school teaches you how to treat the condition but they don’t treat you how to teach the person so I think I learn that here.

If you were looking for that diversity this is a great place to get that also they do specialize kind of that vestibular and also orthopedics

You really develop relationships with your co-workers and feel like part of the team. I had a lot of previous classmates come here have loved it. It’s been amazing, Blayne and Kelan and the team have been so fun to work with, feels like family, feels like home and I highly recommend it to any other students looking to do rotations.

This place is sort of a hidden gem Honestly, I felt like since day one, I felt like I walked in and was supported like I was part of a family.

The experience here has been nothing but great. It’s been so fun getting to know everyone. It’s such a great culture here. It’s a workflow that keeps professional, but at the same time, you have a lot of fun that’s associated with it.

Today I just feel like a competent clinician and as opposed to when I first came in. The biggest skill set I feel like I have today is kind of just clinical decision-making where I can be with the patient and I can make good choices based off of their exact specific case presentation.

This place is sort of a hidden gem Honestly, I felt like since day one, I felt like I walked in and was supported like I was part of a family.

I feel like it was a blessing for me to get placed here, and I'm glad I did.

It was a fun learning environment for me because I got to see, you know, more close knit family type of vibe that was here

I quickly got the guidance I needed and at the right pace to help me hone in on the skills that I needed to improve and helped inspire me to continue on the direction that I’m going right now

I feel like it was a blessing for me to get placed here, and I’m glad I did.

Corrado-Franin-Student-Testimonial-Advantage Physical Therapy-CA.jpg

My name is Corrado Franini and I’m from Casa Loma College. Everybody was very welcoming and very supportive and I loved it from the get-go.

I love is that was Blayne’s enthusiasm for physical therapy. She was really good at making you passionate about this profession. That’s the thing that I loved the most. I learn a lot of therapeutic exercises. I learn a lot of manual therapy that I’ve never seen done in any other clinic. Everything I learned here, it’s going to be with me for the rest of my career.

I loved this location compared to all the other physical therapies, physical therapy clinics that I had. It’s been an amazing experience and it’s going to be with me for the rest of my life I enjoy every, every second of it and I wish it could last longer.

EJ-Akino-success-story-Advantage-Physical-Therapy-Ventura-CA-4

Long story short I really loved it, love the people, love the patients, and some of the experiences that I got to have here.

The team culture is very much like a family, I felt like I could rely on anyone. It felt very welcoming to me which was nice because it’s my first rotation so I didn’t have to feel like I was trying to impress anybody and I just could focus on learning and being the best student therapist that I could be.

A lot of patients come and think of it as a social hour in conjunction with their rehabilitation which is nice. There are a lot of patients that come at the same time, know other patients at the same time and they are always you know how was your weekend and that’s nice to hear and then the patients and employees here at Advantage also have a nice relationship as well.

I think the culture here is very accepting and invested in your progress as a student from all aspects, I think. I was always encouraged and challenged in a way that I did not expect to be in a good way. I was very timid about being able to work with patients and come up with progression and doing initial evaluations and in 6th week I can do all of that and more. That’s definitely because of the support here.

My experience here with the patients, with the therapist, with the company, is going to impact how I’m going to practice as a therapist for the rest of my life because there are things here you, being here makes you want to be a great therapist, someone who is caring as a person and a good really nice balance professionalism

I would highly recommend this place for a few reasons. One, you are really in charge of how you want to make the most of your experience here, so it’s a very collaborative experience, you are not working solely with just your CI. You also work really hand in hand with PT’s and PTA’s and you get the experience coach reading which is something you don’t really get experience within your program or your curriculum. They also specialize in Vestibular Rehab which is something that is unique with this place, I am very lucky I got my feet wet in that area so I recommended it for that as well and the patients highly recommend this place.

Ashley-Castellanos-success-story-Advantage-Physical-Therapy-Ventura-CA-4

I learned so many hands-on techniques. I got the tools to become a PTA and I feel all confident going into the workforce now.

I learn all the manual therapy, all the therapeutic techniques, progressions, and regressions and ultimately put together my methodology approach in order to start perfecting my craft. I appreciate all their time and they are all willing to help me but also like the admin staff, they are also great and very big supporters, and the owner big mentorship, she pushes you to be a little bit better every single time you have a talked with her. So, that’s definitely something that you cannot get anywhere.

I would say that if you want somebody that you know or if you want your patients to excel and get a real taste of what the workforce is gonna be like, this is definitely the place to get all of that and to be able to get all the fundamental tools in order to progress and make good products of students that you know becoming and eventually the clinicians that were going to be. It was just awesome to see people progress and even when they were just discharged, they are almost sad to leave.

Ventura is awesome, you get sun all year round, and there is a lot of things that you can do in the area, its kinda like those good mediums where there is a lot to do but it’s also pretty quiet, work by the beach. That sells itself right there and the people like I said everybody here is like friendly and welcoming.

I’m really appreciative of the experiences that I got here and I don’t think I would got it anywhere else.

Bri-Ramsey-success-story-Advantage-Physical-Therapy-Ventura-CA-4

Overall my experience here has been great. The whole staff has been fun, easygoing, very fun but very professional at the same time. All of the patients are so fun to work with and I learn a lot

Everybody here is good at not only just treating patients for what they are coming in with but you know treating the patient in a whole, like whole person healthcare so that’s one big thing that I notice here not just treat the individual but treat individual pathology but treat the whole person, that’s what I really like about being here.

We get a very wide variety from younger to older but all the patients have been really good, really fun to work with, and really good with students I think they would like to work with students, so that was amazing and fun.

I felt like here the physical therapist are really good at determining and differentiating everybody is different and again treating the person, not just the pathology and really individualizing everybody’s care which is very important so.

I had a great time and whoever the next student who comes is lucky and will learn a lot.
